Cellular Jail
The Cellular Jail, also known as Kālā Pāni, is a historic colonial prison located in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Built between 1896 and 1906 by the British, it was designed to isolate political prisoners and suppress the Indian independence movement. The prison's architecture, based on the 'Panopticon' model, featured seven wings radiating from a central tower, allowing minimal guards to monitor inmates.
